What does Volkswagen & Fashion have in common?

In light of the recent issue where Volkswagen in the USA is going though an emission scandal (Ref @reuters Link to article), it prompts me to make a parallel with what is happening in Fashion.

The moment it happened, some politicians in France wanted the cars in France to go through a more rigorous control. Now, we will have not only doubts about what Volkswagen will be telling us but also possibly the other German automakers (BMW, Mercedes ...) and probably what the French and Italians car makers are telling us. 
In less than a day, the stock price went down 31% (ie trust and confidence went down ).
In less than 3 days, the CEO World of Volkswagen Martin Winterkorn resigns.

If one makes a mistake, it can cast a shadow on all the others.

This is exactly what is happening in Fashion.
